For the love of KEBABS!

Day 56:

This morning Kora was interested in clothes.  She brought me some pants to put on her, that didn't match...at all, but I didn't have the heart to tell her. So she wore them, despite the fashion offensiveness of them and despite the heat. She also kept bringing me clothes from the hamper, and put a few miscellaneous items in the dirty clothes bin.  I'm gonna have to be careful when I go to do the laundry.
She's blurry because she's always on the move

The dress pant combo

That broom is in the middle of the floor because Kora drug it in there.

We spent time in the school room this afternoon. Then went outside to use sidewalk chalk.  Kora took a nice long nap, so glad cause she didn't sleep well last night.  She is getting 7 teeth, yep, 7, so she's been screaming out at night. Poor baby.
Trying to organize the school room with the new containers Alicia gave me.  Was moving some stamp stuff over and guess what Kora found and tasted.

She loves crayons!  I have to watch her really close because she climbs on the table and then thinks she can just dangle her legs over the side to get down.  I'd let her color on the ground, but she'd write on the floor I'm sure or the wall.
Building

Drawing

She likes it!

Running around

Kees explaining the "path" he drew.  He made a line that was the whole length of the driveway!

Cleaning up

While Kora was sleeping, Kees got a little time on the ipad.

Snack time: TORTILLA

Alicia sent me a message asking if I wanted to go shopping with her so she could get a few things for people back home.  She wanted to go to the Sunday night market, and surprisingly, I've NEVER been!  It's a touristy thing, and two little kids at the market can kind of be a nightmare. We've done the Night Bazaar quite a few times, but never gone to the special market that's only on Sunday night, it's right by Thaphae gate. Remember last Monday, we were there for my Mother's day outing. It was a totally different place tonight!  It's one of the biggest markets I've seen here.  My feet were so sore.  I read online before I went that the Sunday night market has more authentic handmade items compared to the Night Bazaar.  A lot of things were pretty similar I thought, but it was still so fun.  It runs from 4 pm till midnight.  When the weather cools down I want to go back and spend a LONG time there, resting when I need to. You can get a foot massage at various places throughout the market, so if I need a break I could just do that. There's also a Muay Thai boxing place right over there. Doug and I are wanting to go sometime, but our only babysitter is heading back to America this week, so it may not happen anytime soon.
We took a tuk-tuk for the last part of the ride

Yeah, I wore no make up, try not to be blinded by my hideous dark circles, and remember Kora was up a bunch last night.

Market

Guess what, the market had tons of amazing food! And there was Kebab stand. YUM! It was 50 baht, so 10 baht more than the one I bought last week, and I think the tortilla wasn't nearly as good, but the meat was yummy and that's the main thing!  I also ate corn with sweetened condensed milk, some watermelon rice snacks, and a passion fruit shake.  My ipod died halfway through the night so I didn't get as many pictures as I would have liked. But I think Doug will take me back soon since he's never been.  I've been talking it up since I got home tonight, so maybe...
Mmmm...market food.

I did not try this, but I'm sure Doug would have.

KEBAB!  I love me some kebab!

Sushi anyone?  Just 5 baht per piece or 10 depending on what you get.

When I got home I had about 20 of these pictures.  I waded through all of them twice, to choose just the right one to post. It's a picture of the inside of my purse.
Those heart looking things on a stick are sticky rice and egg formed together and grilled.

Glass blowing.

This music was pretty amazing.
I always want to buy one of these, but they come in flat packaging and I'm fairly certain I wouldn't be able to get it put together correctly.

Best thing I saw all night, a giant fork and spoon, I hope my house in heaven has these right outside my front door.

They put sugar cane through that metal masher thingy to make fresh sugarcane juice, it's pretty yummy!

The back of Alicia's head, this is one of the last times I'll see it, in just a few days I'll be watching her walk away for good. :(  So thankful for the memories and the fun times!
