Week #11: Calendar Time

We sing the months of the year song, and the days of the week song. Then we say, "Today is Monday August 11, 2014"

All I did for this calendar is make days of the weeks, months of the year, and numbers on foam pieces and added sticky on magnets to the back.  We put them all on this magnetic white board.


You can listen to the "Months of the Year" song here.  We sing it a little faster, but you get the idea.

You can do the "Days of the Week" to the tune of the Addams Family, like this.

If you don't like those versions, there's plenty of others to choose from online.  Songs are a great way to learn important information in a fun way!

We have a regular calendar, as well, that just has the current month, and we have 3 round foam magnets that say, "yesterday", "today", and "tomorrow".

I have the kids find today, and we say "Today is Monday, August 11, 2014", then we do the same thing with yesterday and tomorrow.
