Flashback Friday: Baby Trapped in a Smoothie

Friday:

Halloween, trick or treating!

A local church, plus some of the mall employees hosted an indoor trick or treat.

Frosting cookies, notice Kora took the frosting straight to her mouth, skip the middle man.

We met with the youth from church at Pizza Hut for dinner.

After dinner we were planning to meet friends and do some outdoor trick or treating. It ended up being rainy, so we headed to Sandy (and Alan's) place. We went to a couple houses in their neighborhood.

Do you see the mummy in the window???

Tetris pumpkin

Sandy has giant coloring books!

After we left Sandy's place, Doug had a headache and needed caffeine. He got a coffee and a giant dr. pepper.

Saturday:

This was the awesome thrift store shopping day.  I didn't get pictures of us shopping, but I DID get a picture of the fun duckies in front of the food truck we stopped at for a snack.

After thrift store shopping, I went home, and then we headed to a wedding celebration at church. The wedding took place in another state a couple months back, but we got to meet the groom. And then a bunch of people played football out back.

Kees wanted me to look at his castle.

We got locked out (at the back door), and had to walk all the way around so Kees could go to the bathroom.

After the potty break, Doug found us and we headed back home.

Here's some of my thrift store loot.

Kora is wearing the snowsuit I bought her.  She can't reach the balloon, so she is standing on the box of whale crackers to get it.

I bought this game for $1.99. It's a blast.  Kind of like bingo with hexagons, and you each get to choose where to put a marker.  Great for new vocabulary and learning/practicing descriptor words.

Kees decided he wanted to help with the dishes.  He did an AMAZING job!  He pays attention to detail like his dad.

Then he wiped countertops.  He also helped make the pumpkin treats for Sandy's housewarming.

Then he tuckered right out!

Sunday:

The ladies at church tease me about how my kids are "angels".  Mainly because Kees is so mellow most of the time.  However, Kora did hit someone in the nursery, so maybe our true colors are coming out.

I think Doug overheard me telling Kees how nice it was to get help with cleaning the kitchen. They worked together to get the job done.  Hooray, and a big fat thank you from me!

Kora asked to play with the pie pad (iPad).  She didn't last very long...

Monday:

This was the day I was writing the post about playing games, and the kids came over and wanted to play.  Um, yeah! Let's do it!

Kora is learning to do dishes too!

Kees doing school work.  Numbers, numbers, numbers!

Tuesday:

We got an awesome package from Aunt Kristee. It included maps!!! And new math curriculum for Kees.

Wish I remembered what they were playing here. I think they were chasing monsters.

Kees built a city.

Another attempt at keeping the stool clean.  Kora is such a mess!!!

I made Kora a smoothie.

And then she lost her baby in the smoothie.  She had been pretending the baby was drinking from the straw, I guess she fell right in.  How hilarious that the poor baby is peeking out.

More number work! Way to go Kees.  He is one diligent boy, sometimes these activities take a long time, but he never gives up.

Kora likes to "help".

Wednesday:

Wednesday means "wordy wednesday" post. Kora is doing biblical research for me.

I found a couple websites that have bible stories listed chronologically, and then have the reference.

In the mean time, DRESS UP!!!

Bath time, but first, we needed to get all the books back on the shelf.

On our way to eat dinner with friends in Spokane.  Kora is wearing the new sweater dress I bought her at the thrift store.

Thursday:

Doug came home from work, and made fried rice for us.  He found a TWIN egg!!!

Doug has men's bible study on Thursday nights, we had a FaceTime date with Gramee and Grampa, per their request.  The kids showed them every last piece of Halloween candy they had.

Kora is easily distracted. She gets that from one of her parents. I'll give you a hint, it's not Doug.

Best part of my night, Gramee reading to the kids! Kora wanted more, but it was getting late.

We decided to call Grandma Sheryl, she answered!!!

After all that fun, Doug got home and then Kees decided his sword was a cane, and he was an old man.  How does he come up with this stuff. This was the same day I heard him telling Kora that his great great great great grandpa was also her great great great great grandpa, and he died.

Kora is an old lady.
