Day Friday (11-29-13):
This was another early morning, and a traveling day. Not sure why I don't have many pictures from this day. On our way out of Michigan, we were able to visit with our good friends, Ric and Sharon, co-workers from Thailand, who are home having a baby. He was born in August, and his sweet Momma had a rough go in the beginning, very scary, it was great to hear their birth story, meet sweet Rye, and catch up.
We only saw them for a little over an hour, then headed to Jackson, WI. Our first ever supporting church is there. They've been a great encouragement to us at various times. We stayed with a young couple, whose last name I will not attempt to spell, but, Matt and Melissa are their names. They had a big dog, and two cats. They were going out of town for the weekend to hunt, but Deanna, our fabulous host, convinced them they should go to dinner with us. We went to a place called the Saw Mill. It was yummy! And Doug got a Sprecher Root Beer! More on that later. :)

Early morning, snowy roads. |

Poor guy. We bought this countdown to Christmas calendar, the second week of November, but he wanted to start counting anyway. I explained, on numerous occasions, on several different days, that it was NOT December yet, that we'd have to count to 25, wait 5 days and start ALL the way over. This was the day he finally "got" it. He was crying and crying, saying, "There's no Christmas, there's no presents!" *sigh* Does this parenting thing get any easier??? |

Their dog is the size of a horse and they have a ginormous fire place that heats the whole place. Unfortunately, Doug and I have no life skills, so we had to use the heater. |

She was tuckered out. |
Day Saturday (11-30-13):
Saturday morning, Deanna, our host for the weekend, came to pick me up to go to a craft fair. She came in holding Dr. Pepper and Sprecher root beer. Man, we're spoiled!
We drove to Milwaukee, but there was no craft fair. :( Deanna was frustrated about the false advertising, but I consoled her by telling her I was thrilled to go anywhere without my kids. Her niece was playing hockey nearby and confession, I've never been to a hockey game. As we were getting out of Deanna's car, she offered me gloves. I was a little confused, since it wasn't that cold out. In case you didn't know, hockey is played on ice, and the arena is cold...interesting. This Thai girl wasn't prepared.
After watching a little bit of the hockey game, we went shopping at Good Will. It was a lot of fun and Deanna didn't even complain about how annoying I am to shop with. Then we went and had lunch at Culver's. After lunch, we hung out at the house, while Deanna went to a birthday party, then we met her and went of to a dinner fellowship at Ray and Laurel's place. (Ray was out hunting, are you noticing a theme?).

Kora loved dancing with Laurel |
At dinner we were able to share about GoodSeed and answered a lot of great questions. It's always nice when people are genuinely interested and have stories of their own to share as well, about sharing their faith. As always, very encouraging. And the chili was so good!
Day Sunday (12-1-13):
We were able to share during the morning service. Doug shared a sermonette, and I shared a few stories. There was plenty of time after to visit with people. Then we went with Pastor Brent, and our host Deanna to get some awesome Chinese food. Pastor Brent was roommates with Doug back in bible school, so it's always nice for them to swap stories, and catch up.
Day Monday (12-2-13):
This was our last official day with the folks from Freedom Fellowship. We were able to go with Pastor Brent, and his wife, Sarah, to a children's community play place. The kids had a great time, but I was so busy talking with the adults that I didn't take any pictures, forgive me. We also had pizza and Dr. Pepper, because people know what we like and they're super nice!

Brent and Doug! Sarah's back there too, working to get our lunch ready. |
