Pittsburgh

Day Tuesday (11-12-13):

Tuesday morning we headed out. We were headed to Pittsburgh to visit the Cherrys. He works in college ministry at Carnegie Mellon. It was FREEZING!  This was our first sight of snow!  I thought I might die.  We were able to eat in Pittsburgh, college towns are so fun. Then we walked over the campus. Doug (Cherry) took us for a tour of the campus.  Then, thankfully, him and Doug did all the crazy walking in the cold and came back to pick me and the kids up.  Did I mention it was COLD!  We drove across town to their place, and Kiki (Doug's wife) made some yummy dinner for us, Shepherd's pie. We were able to relax and visit.  So great to see them again, they worked with college students, back when I was in college and when my Doug and I started dating. It's been probably 10 years, great to see them again!
We helped jump someone off before we hit the road.

Coloring

Paint markers, Kora painted her nails.

Kees made Hulk hands again.

Play dough

Kees making lots of something, we both forgot, I even asked him, but he doesn't remember.

The flag of America. That's what Kees calls it.  He learned about flags in Thailand, and I explained that Thailand has a flag and America has a flag.  Somehow, that translated to, "The flag of America"

First snow sighting!

See the trend, they sleep the same.

Lunch

She loves eating

Explaining something to Doug.

Philly sandwich

Pizza

Yummy

Kora wants to know what the spots on the wall are...I don't know...

The place we ate.

Kees took this cup to collect snow in, then he would eat it.

Snow!

He was happy about the snow, really happy.

At Carnegie Mellon

It looks like they joined right in.

Looking up, up, up.

They have a fence on campus and different groups paint it and try to keep it with their stuff on it for as long as possible.  Kind of like a turf war, I think. ;)

In the chapel

Who remembers, "Break the wrist, and walk away!" (from Napoleon Dynamite)

She's dancing

She's running

InterFaith Council

On the way to the Cherrys.

Somehow she figured out how to unravel her socks.

Day Wednesday (11-13-13):

Kiki took off work so she could hang out with us!  She is definitely a teacher, she had fun stuff for the kids to do.  Kees loved, loved, loved putting bandaids on the bear.  After this, we went to an indoor play place.  They had a special discount, so that was cool. The kids had a lot of fun! When we got back, Kiki made Thai curry! It was so good!  Then her and Kees made and decorated some cookies.

Art!

Kora is in heaven.

Kees was very careful.

Just call him Dr. Kees.

At the play place.

Figuring it out.

Look out, she's got a weapon

Don't mess with him.

This ball place was so cool, you could collect balls, then put them in these guns and shoot at targets.

More art.

Cookies, he was a little heavy handed with the sprinkles.

Delicious!
