En Route to America

Day 125 1/2 (Saturday-ish):

The details on what day was what are a little fuzzy.  So this 1/2 day will be pictures from the Chiang Mai to Seoul flight, the transit hotel, and landing in LA. Then the Sunday post will be everything once we landed in the states, LA first and then the flight from LA to OKC.

The first flight was 5 1/2 hours.  Everyone slept except me.
Snuggling Daddy.

He's always been a great sleeper.

Kees's kids meal

Breakfast

Sleeping girl

Watching a movie.

In the transit hotel. We stayed in the hotel for about 6 hours.  It was too expensive, but also worth every penny.  I was able to sleep and shower.

Kees slept the best, but what's new.  Doug went to track down a Dr. Pepper. Kora and I showered while he was gone and Kees slept until the last possible minute.

Getting into snacks.

On the counter top.

She loves resting in various places, but only for about a minute at a time.

DR PEPPER

Waiting by our gate

Kora sat here for 30 seconds.

Cheese....mmmm.....cheese..we'll see you soon.

Kora took off, I followed her, and she found this!

I see you.

I was a little nervous about her toppling down the slide, but she turned over on her stomach and came down feet first.

Like this.

We went back and got Kees to come play with us.

Fresh clothes and clean hair.

Whoa!

I liked this.

Please burn some energy.

Happy Girl!

More buttons ( this flight from Seoul to LA was 12 hours)

No exaggeration, I pulled all of the activities out of our bag for Kora to play with before the plane ever took off.

Tic Tac Toe magnet game.

I guess this is like Aqua doodle, if I understand correctly. You put water in this little brush and it makes the special pages turn colors.

Yes, we traveled with malt balls.

Kora making friends.

Dinner

Day 126 (Sunday):

We landed in LA at 11 pm local time (which was 1 pm in Oklahoma, and 1 am (Monday) in Thailand).  We had to go through customs first, and then we had to pick up all 900 of our bags.  It took 3 carts to put our luggage on. You do the math, there were 2 adults and 2 small children, so basically that cancels out one adult.  Thankfully one of the employees helped us go through customs and took us to re-check the bags.  Our friends, Ciara and Caleb, were picking us up because the layover was 8 hours, we thought we were going to have to keep all our bags with us, so they had to arrange to bring a truck and a car and even borrowed carseats. So it wasn't easy, but they made us feel so special!  They even brought 2 Dr. Peppers with them. AWESOME!
Kora and I with Ciara

We went to In N Out burger and got to see a little bit of California. I'd never been, so even though it was a quick visit, it was fun.  After lunch and some time hanging out, they took Kora to the park and Doug, Kees and I took a short nap.
In N Out plus Dr. Pepper and great friends...amazing!

Then we went back to the airport, went through security, found the bus that drove us to our gate, waited about 20 minutes, and boarded the last flight.
This was in LA,  I don't know what it is.

Kora slept in the car going both directions.

Caleb dropping us off.

On the bus on the way to the terminal, we saw lots of airplanes!

Kora ran all around the place and insisted that people make friends with her.

Kora was quite antsy on the last flight and I was feeling sick. We weren't all sitting together, so Doug and I took turns entertaining the kids. It was a 2 1/2 hour flight, and Kora did sleep the last hour or so.
Putting stickers in his Highlights magazine.

We landed in OKC about 20 minutes before midnight, Doug's dad and step mom picked us up. We got back to their place around midnight and stayed up a couple more hours, the kids played and Grandpa Boo played, while the other adults visited. We went to bed around 2 am!
